Healthy eating is not about strict dietary limitations, staying unrealistically thin, or depriving yourself of the foods you love. Rather, it’s about making sure you eat the right amount of foods from the five major food groups.

Fruit and vegetablesthese should make up 40 percent of our daily diet. You should try to eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables each day. One portion of fruit/vegetables is 80g.

Dairy and alternatives – these should make up 8 percent of our daily diet and include cheese, yogurt, milk.

Non-dairy protein – these should make up 12 percent of our daily diet. Foods include meat, fish, nuts, pulses and eggs.
