Why SMP Healthcare is a member of BIBA

BIBA is the UK’s leading general insurance intermediary organisation. BIBA’s full name is The British Insurance Brokers’ Association.

The current BIBA membership boasts 1800 regulated firms. They constantly provide us with regularity information which is essential for our business.

AMII is the entity dedicated to the health insurance market itself and we are proud to hold membership for both.

The BIBA mission statement is shown below. From our experience to date,  they certainly do a fine job!

To represent and protect the best interests of our insurance broker and intermediary members and their customers”

When were BIBA formed?

They were formed back in 1977 to represent independent insurance brokers. In 1988 they briefly included Independent Financial Advisers becoming BIIBA. In 1994 however their sister organisation was created.  The IFA Association arrived in 1999, they then removed the investment element and reverted back to BIBA

Knowing the ability to connect with their members on any platform, BIBA have developed a large social media presence including:

  • LinkedIn
  • Twitter
  • YouTube

Having access to BIBA via so many different platforms makes it easy for it’s members. It enables us to keep up to date with the latest news and views of the insurance industry.
