One of the best moves I have made was to source another healthcare broker as I was becoming disenchanted with the lack of, seemingly, interest with the company I was using. After discussion with a Which? specialist, he advised me how to go about locating an accredited broker, and as a result of my subsequent research, I contacted SMP Healthcare. My initial contact, when I called, was with Lianne who couldn't have been more helpful AND there was no buzz of a Call Centre in the background! Lianne referred me to Natalie and I was immediately reassured by her very pleasant demeanor, but, more importantly, her evident in-depth knowledge of, in my particular case, advising on which healthcare provider I should sign up with and, critically, why. Her skill in this area is very impressive. She has kept me informed all along of on-going developments which has been very reassuring. Lianne and her team at SMP have been a breath of fresh air! As a company, we have operated a health scheme for a number of years, starting with Bupa up to a few years ago and then moving to Aviva after Bupa’s prices increased to un-realistic figures. After the group secretary left the company, he recommended that SMP Health take over the management and renewal of the company policy. Lianne, with her vast knowledge of the industry, has helped us in a few sticky situations and also been at hand (often out of normal office hours) to give advice. However, their greatest achievement came when our policy was due for renewal with Aviva in 2015. Aviva had quoted us a total of £31,704.90 for the group, an increase of 35% on the previous year. SMP healthcare then started to negotiate for us with all the major providers and came back with a quote from Bupa (on a virtually like-for-like basis) for £9,124.11! What a saving! SMP really has been worth their weight in gold to us. We look forward to using Lianne and her team in the future.

Every year, when the renewal of our private medical insurance comes round, we see an increase in premium which seems to escalate as we are now definitely the wrong side of 60. We were amazed when Natalie looked at our policy for us and actually explained that we could change insurer and showed us how we could save money on the policy, too. She filled in the application forms with us and just made the whole process easy. Our new insurer actually gives cover as standard for some of the London hospitals that we would not have had access to before. It really puts your mind at rest especially as you get older to know that everything is sorted out for you should you need to use it.
