The coronavirus pandemic has affected everyone world wide. It is known as COVID-19 and has effected the health and wellbeing of people globally.
This virus spreads quickly. Primarily through droplets of saliva or nasal discharge when you cough or sneeze. The World Health Organisation provide a number of things you can do to protect both yourself and others.
These guidelines for COVID-19 include:
- Keeping a distance of at least 1 meter between you and other people
- Wearing a mask that covers your mouth and nose
- Only meet people outside where possible
- Avoid touching your eyes, mouth and nose
- Regularly wash your hands with soap and water or use an alcohol based hand sanitiser
- Clean and disinfect surfaces regularly.
In the UK, if you have COVID-19 your treatment would be via the NHS not via private medical insurance.
If you are diagnosed with coronavirus in the UK you will be asked to self isolate. When you only have mild symptoms you may not even require further medical treatment. Self-isolating is crucial because it can help to prevent the spread of the virus.
